On March 8 every year we celebrate International Women’s Day by focusing on women’s social, economical and polit-ical achievements. Yet according to Jude Kelly, who initiated the WOW-Women Of the World festival five years ago, many women still battle sexism every day. “I was tired of hearing particular- ly young women talk to me about their struggles for equality. So I thought I’d set up a festival and include everything that needs to be discussed,” she says.

WOW- festival champions gender equality, honours accomplishments of women and analyses the obstacles that keep them from fulfilling their potential.
